From the earliest days of my acquaintance with the world, I have been surrounded by rich seasonings of food and people alike, so it wasn’t long ’til I learned, quite inevitably, that variety is truly the spice of life. It has long been observed that one’s character is shaped as much by the company one keeps as by the flavours one dares to taste.
In time, my desire to explore such flavours revealed its true allegiance in a few ways:
Connection: A pleasure much sought after and rarely resisted. any and all desire starts here.
Creativity: The vigour that brings life to every thing that ever is, was or will be. Akin to magic, it has always been a core part of me.
Curiosity: The mustard seed of intelligence – because of this, my pursuit of knowledge and experience is a life-long journey.
Sensuality – Why, it is no scandal to say we are all born with it. Yet only patience, and a certain bravery, allow one to relish in it completely.
Such revelations do not arrive all at once; they unfold, as all the best things do, under the careful supervision of time.
It was through the arts that these truths were most elegantly introduced to me. Connection and curiosity led me hand in hand to where, I found a means of union – of feeling and form, discipline and desire – blended to a lifestyle of my own unique design. Thus emerged a life carefully cultivated, where creativity and sensuality dance so closely as to be mistaken for one another.
Even the greatest thinkers (most notably Freud) have mentioned so; for both are said to spring from the same restless impulse: libidinal energy. A longing for pleasure, for intimacy, for that delicious sensation of being vividly alive. I, for one, find it feels remarkably natural… One could call it my destiny.
And when that irrepressible energy stirs… well, we all recognise the moment. The charged silences, the lingering glances, the breath held just a second too long. Hearts race, inhibitions falter, and one is entirely, deliciously present. It is all art, albeit – untamed, intoxicating, and unapologetically free. Precisely as it ought to be.
